Sport Programmes
Our sport program is a collaboration with Braven Performance Lab – PVM. The rapid rise of digital engagement among our youth, with the gaming market expanding six times faster than the global average and excessive screentime leads to an increase in mental health issues such as anxiety disorders and depression. This presents both opportunities and challenges – it’s important to get our children outside, active and engaged in sport.
The ReBOOT Sport program can foster emotional intelligence (EQ), cognitive development, physical health, and psychological resilience skills which are vital for children and learners to thrive in our community’s diverse and dynamic contexts.
Sport-based and planned structured activities offer a holistic approach to child development:
Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Team sports and group activities foster emotional awareness, self-regulation, and empathy, enhancing social skills and reducing aggression.
Cognitive Development: Structured activities like strategy-based games or obstacle courses promote divergent thinking and executive function, boosting creative problem-solving.
Physical Health: Sports strengthen bone density, reduce obesity and improve motor skills and sleep quality, supporting lifelong health habits.
Psychological Resilience: Team-based activities build adaptability and self-efficacy, reducing anxiety and depression risks.
Our comprehensive sports program integrates physical development and mental conditioning as its two core pillars. Crucially, the program’s effectiveness relies on a close, collaborative partnership between the athlete, parent, and coach. This synergy ensures consistent progress, optimal development, and ultimately, long-term success for every participant.

overview of the programme
Braven Performance Lab – PVM
The physical training of the athlete, coach, and parent is supported through a well-developed Life Orientation (LO) program. This program can be adapted to be sport-specific, ensuring relevance and maximum impact.
Conditioning refers to the systematic physical training of the body to improve strength, endurance, flexibility and overall performance in sport-specific activities. With their extensive expertise, Niel du Plessis and Erin Burger take the lead in guiding and delivering the physical development aspect of the programme.

ReBOOT is grateful for the opportunity to join hands with one of the leading nutritional brands – PVM, sharing the same holistic approach to wellness.
PVM stands for Proteins, Vitamins & Minerals. The company was established in the late 1960’s because of intensive scientific research undertaken by the National Institute of Food Research of the CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research).
As a result, PVM Nutritional Sciences became one of the first companies to manufacture clinical nutritional products to combat severe malnutrition and produced the World’s Original Energy Bar®, based on an earlier product devised to provide essential nutrition for military personnel in combat.
PVM Nutritional Sciences belief in a holistic approach and regard nutritional products as complementary to specific lifestyle requirements and good, balanced nutritional intake daily.
Only within this context do nutritional products play a contributory, meaningful and scientifically valid role in health and performance.
We aim to empower the athlete and coach with accurate knowledge to make informed decisions about healthy supplements and to understand the consequences of substance abuse.
Our focus is on supporting the athlete in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, with special emphasis on the importance of a consistent and restorative sleep routine.
ReBOOT Team
Leadership styles are introduced as a foundational framework to support the development of identity and individuality, with the aim of promoting positive psychology and overall well-being among learners, parents, and coaches.
This approach empowers each individual to understand their natural strengths and leadership tendencies. By recognising and valuing different styles, we create a culture of respect, collaboration, and personal growth.
Included is the Tall Trees Leadership Profile for each athlete and coach, a practical positive psychology exercise focused on goal visualisation; and relevant handouts that can be revisited throughout the term of office.
Success in sport is not achieved in isolation. This component focuses on the essential roles of both parents and coaches in an athlete’s journey. By fostering strong communication, shared expectations and consistent encouragement, we create a supportive environment where the athlete feels guided, understood, and motivated.
Key elements include:
- Regular check-ins and progress discussions between coach, athlete, and parent.
- Encouraging a growth mindset at home and on the field.
- Clear goal setting and role clarity for everyone involved.
- Providing emotional support: encouragement, empathy and reassurance. The aim is to celebrate effort and progress, not just results. Helping the child to manage disappointment, nerves and pressure. Listening to their feelings without judgement. Promoting self-confidence and a healthy mindset.
- Providing logistical support: this involves the practical help that parents give to enable participation and consistency. Managing schedules and making time for training. Ensuring that they have the right gear and nutrition. Helping them balance academics, sport, structured activities and downtime.
This triangle of support strengthens not only performance but also the athlete’s confidence and personal development.
